Primary orthostatic hypotension is also called shy-Drayer syndrome (SDS), it is multisystemic degenerative disease which represents vegetative nervous system damage, the main symptoms comprise orthostatic hypotension, syncope is common symptom, dysfunction of sweating, impotence and urination disorders, it can be combined with tremor, cerebellar ataxia etc, it is difficult to treat. The writer utilized Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan to treat 56 cases of Primary Orthostatic Hypotension and got certain effect.

Treatment method: treatment group: the patients were randomly divided into 2 groups, 28 cases in each group. Group A take Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan, 3 times each time, 8-10 pills each time. Group B take Jin Gui Shen Qi Tang: raw Di Huang, Shu Di Huang 15g respectively, Shan Yao 30g, Shan Zhu Yu 20g, Mu Dan Pi 10g, Ze Xie 20g, Fu Ling 10g, prepared Fu Zi 10g, Rou Gui 3g (dissolving in water). 2 times for each decoction, 200ml each time, 1 time in the morning and evening respectively. As for contrast group: intravenous drip 5% Glucose Injection 250ml one time per day, adding 654-210mg dexamethasone 1 time in the morning. All the diseases mentioned above should take 10 days as one course, 3 courses continually.

Result: the total effective rate is 82.1% in  Shen Qi Wan group, 85.7% in Shen Qi Wan Tang group, 75% in contrast group. After statistical treatment, the total effective rate in Shen Qi Wan and Shen Qi Tang is evidently better than that of contrast group.
