Gui Fu Di Huang Wan has evident function of enhancing mice’s immune function, which mainly represents as obviously improve mice’s immune organ weight, increase the percent of lymphocyte ANAE (+) cells, advance the phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophage. The improvement of mice’s cellular immune function by Gui Fu Di Huang Wan is diverse with the difference in dosage, it is observed that the function of thymus weight improvement of Gui Fu Di Huang Wan 40g/kg is obviously better than 20g/kg’s dosage, but, the influence to mice’s spleen weight is adverse, that is the function of small dosage Gui Fu Di Huang Wan is better than large dosage. Gui Fu Di Huang Wan can increase mice’s lymphocyte ANAE (+) cells percent, it shows clear dose-response relationship, however, as for the promotion of mouse peritoneal macrophage phagocytic function, both of them has strength. Lymphocytes ANAE (+) activity may be the marked feature of mature T lymphocytes in mice, Gui Fu Di Huang Wan can enhance lymphocytes ANAE (+) percentage, it highlights that Gui Fu Di Huang Wan may enhance immune function by increasing the number of T lymphocyte and its activity.

Gui Fu Di Huang Wan can evidently improve the phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophage, it illustrates that Gui Fu Di Huang Wan has function of improving monocyte system.  Macrophage delivers antigen-presenting cells to T, B lymphocytes, at the same time, it can excrete interleukin-1 (IL 1), IL 1 is the main factor to spring immune response. Thus, Gui Fu Di Huang Wan can enhance the mechanism of mice’s cell immune function. As for whether it has relation with the delivery of antigen and IL 1-induced immune response in immune regulation by macrophages, further research is needed.

Key words: Gui Fu Di Huang Wan, enhance immune function of mice, mechanism research
