Internal Medicine

Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor (ACEI) is the common medicine for hypertension, but it has some side effect, some patients have amyctic dry cough during clinical application, as for slight symptom, it will bring some discomfort for patients, however, as to the severe symptom, could not bear and should stop to use the medicine, which will influence the effect of relieving patient’s hypertension. The 60 cases were randomly divided into two groups including 30 cases in treatment group and 30 cases in contrast group. Treatment method: the two groups use captopril for treatment of hypertension, 12.5-50mg each time, 2-3 times a day, oral intake. When there is amyctic dry cough during 5 days after treatment, we applied Mai Men Dong Tang in treatment group. Basic prescription: Mai Men Dong 20g, Ban Xia 6g, Gan Cao 10g, Geng Mi 12g, Ren Shen 12g, Da Zao 5 pieces. Modification according to the syndrome: adding Sha Shen 10g, Yu Zhu 10g, if there is dry throat; adding Fang Feng 10g if there is itching throat. Slow fire cook for decocting of 2 times, taking the decoction in the morning and evening, 1 decoction each day, 10 decoctions are as one course. As to contrast group, afford the patients Ke Bi Qing 25mg, 3 times a day, oral intake. After 1 month’s observation, we evaluate the effect. Result: the total effective rate is 80.0% in treatment group, 33.3% in contrast group.
