We have done the observations on curative effects of chronic traumatic synovitis of knee treated with fire needle. All these 100 cases have hydrops in knee articular cavity, edema of knee, obvious swelling at both Xi Yan with inflexion position, positive for floating patella examination, pain and sensation of fullness. Treatment: prick on ST 34, SP 10 and ST 35 with a red hot fire needle rapidly for 0.2-0.5 Cun without retaining needle. Press on the pinholes with sterilize dry cotton ball in case of bleeding. Once the each other day, and 5 times treatment is one course. Results: the total effective rate is 97%. Half of the patients find the reduction of hydrops next morning after the first treatment, the pain and fullness sense relieve.
