The yin stores the essence and rises frequently in response to the need of yang. The yang defends and consolidates the outside for the yin. If the yin cannot match the yang, the qi and blood will flow swiftly. When yang is over active, the one will become mad. If the yang cannot match the yin, the qi of the five zang-organs will not be in harmony and the nine orifices will become obstructed. Sages coordinate the yin and yang, so that the sinews and channels are harmonious, the bones and marrow are solid, and the qi and blood are normal. In this way, the inside and outside will be harmonious, and evils will not harm people; the ears and eyes will be bright, and the qi will flow normally.
