So the Taiyin lung channel dominates the interior, and the Taiyang bladder channel dominates the exterior. The nutritive qi and the defensive qi respectively run twenty-five circles in the day and the other twenty-five circles at night. The midnight is the double-yin. The yin begins to decline at midnight, and vanishes at dawn. Then the yang begins to increase. The midday is double-yang. The yang begins to decline after that, and vanishes at dusk. Then the yin begins to increase. At midnight, the nutritive qi and defensive qi meet in the viscera while people are sleeping. This is called the midnight meeting. The yin vanishes at dawn, and then the yang begins to increase. The nutritive qi and defensive qi circulate through out the day and night, like the endless running of the sun and moon.
