Alzheimer Disease Treated with Xing Nao Yi Chi Tang

The 3 cases are all males, 80~92 years old and 85 years old at average. The disease courses are 1~3 years, one year, two years and three years respectively. The clinical manifestations are subjective, irritable, pigheaded, self-serving, sleep disorders, hypomnesis, intelligence impairment, sleepless at night, day and night conversed, hamartia, contamination and slurred, ect. Xing Nao Yi Chi Tang for internal taking: Tai Zi Shen, Dan Shen, Huang Qi, Lian Zi Xin, Fu Ling, Shi Hu, Jiang Ban Xia, Zhu Ru, Wu Wei Zi, Yi Zhi Ren and Shi Chang Pu. Add Yuan Zhi, Hu Po, fried Suan Zao Ren for irritability, anxiety, less sleeping; add Bai Zhu, Yin Yang Huo, prepared Fu Pian (decocted first) for depress, less speaking, fatigue and poor appetite. During treatment periods, encourage them join the group to study or amuse. The formers are two cases; they take 15 doses and the syndromes improved obviously, and after taking 30 doses, syndromes disappear, intelligence recovers, and are urged to live on their owns. The latter is one case; after taking 20 doses, part of the syndromes are improved, and after taking 50 doses, the syndromes disappear mostly. Observe the 3 cases for one year and 1.5 year without treatments, and the conditions are in stable.
