Biliary tract ascarid syndrome is caused by the ascarid in intestines dig into biliary tract, the ascarids generally parasitize in the mid-lower parts of small intestine, when there is some change of the gastrointestinal environment or gastrointestinal tract dysfunction due to pregnancy and other factors, the ascarids will be restless because of the changes of their autoecious environment, they will move to duodenum, in addition, the ascarids have habit of digging, especially when there is dysfunction of sphincter which situated in the common bile duct outlet during contraction, the ascarids easily dig into biliary tract and resulting in this disease. It will occur during pregnancy period, the treatment is complicated because the special physiological condition of pregnancy. First of all, the disease are once diagnosed, the paroxysmal upper abdominal colic should be controlled early in order to avoid abortion and abortion Worries, however, the generally used Atropine and Meperidine that can reduce pain symptom are belong to contraindicated drugs; secondly, the prescription we used may effectively expel ascarids as well as prevent infection of biliary tract, and also it has no influence to fetus, therefore, for treatment of biliary ascarid, the herbal experienced prescription Wu Mei Wan and western medicine insectifuge are not suitable for this disease, such as, the Fu Zi, Xi Xin, Gan Jiang, Chuan Jiao in Wu Mei Wan have function of warming and heating as well as have a little toxicity, they will arouse abortion risk, as a result, the writer use self-built prescription that mentioned above for treatment of this disease according to TCM realization and experiences toward ascarids as “moving after getting sweat, pronating after getting spicy, stopping moving after getting bitter, becoming soft after getting sour†and get satisfied effect. In the prescription, Bai Shao Yao, Gan Cao can relieve emergency and stop pain, especially Bai Shao Yao combining with the acid of Wu Mei, the spicy of Chuan Lian Zi, Mu Xiang, the bitter of Huang Qin and Huang Lian can comfort ascarids; Shi Jun Zi, Chuan Lian Zi may expel ascarids, Huang Qin, Xu Duan, Du Zhong, Sang Ji Sheng can sooth the fetus; if there is infection in the biliary tract or jaundics, adding Yin Chen, Ban Lan Gen for the purpose of clearing heat, relieving toxicity, resolving dampness, expelling jaundice, the whole prescription has the function of relieving painful immediately, expelling ascarids as well as consolidating fetus and reinforcing vigor.
