We have treated 18 cases of acute and chronic bronchitis with pricking on collaterals plus cupping including 9 males and 9 females; the ages are 33~67 years old; the disease courses are 4 days-52 years. Treatment: patients are in sitting or prone position, and expose the acupoints location regions on back and lower limbs. Choose GV 14, GV 13 and BL 12; add ST 40 for excess of phlegm. After routine sterilization, sallow prick for 5~6 times with three edged needle quickly with slight bloodstain, and then do cupping with fire immediately. Draw out the cups after 20 minutes remaining and wipe blood. It is the whole process above. Once treatment every 7 days, and 3 times treatments are one course. The patients without cured continue the treatment after 7 days. Results: 14 cases are markedly effective accounting for 77.8%; 2 cases are improved accounting for 11.1%; and 2 cases fail accounting for 11.1%.
