In the clinical observation, 79 non-insulin-dependent diabetic patients were randomly divided into acupuncture group, moxibustion group, acupuncture plus moxibustion group. Weiwanxiashu was applied in the three groups. The main clinical symptoms, fasting blood glucose, 24-hour quantitative urine sugar, HSAIC (glycolated hemoglobin), blood lipid were observed analyzed before and after treatment.


Results: clinical symptoms had improved in all three groups, also fasting blood glucose, 24-hour quantitative urine sugar, HSAIC, cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein were lower in varying degrees (P<0.05), the high density lipoprotein was higher (P<0.05); but the best efficacy came from acupuncture plus moxibustion group (P<0.01).
