1 General Data:
There are 17 colitis gravis cases and 25 noncolitis gravis cases in 42 patients. 19 males and 23 females; age: the eldest is 72 years old and the youngest is 27 years old; disease course: 7 cases are less than 1 year, 8 cases are between 1～4 years, 10 cases are between 5～9 years, and 17 cases are more than 10 years.
2 Treatment
2.1 The Prescription: the main prescriptions of A group are CV 12, CV 6 and ST 36 (both); the main prescriptions of B group are BL 25 (both), ST 25 (both) and ST 37 (both). Use the both groups alternately. The secondary points according to differentiations: BL 20 for deficiency of both spleen and stomach; CV 9 for stagnation of damp and heat; BL 20 and BL 18 for spleen deficiency and liver qi stagnation; CV 4 for spleen and kidney yang deficiency. The secondary points according to symptoms: KI 15 for constipation, SP 1 for pyohemia.
2.2 The Procedure And Technique of Chinese Medicinal Herb Cake
Chinese medicinal herbs: radix aconiti lateralis preparata (Fu Zi), cortex cinnamomi (Rou Gui), radices salviae miltiorrhizae (Dan Shen), safflower (Hong Hua), radices saussureae (Mu Xiang), goldthread rhizoma coptidis (Huang Lian); be reduced to powder for airtight storage.
Formula: the main prescriptions are goldthread rhizoma coptidis (huanglian), radices salviae miltiorrhizae (danshen), safflower (honghua), radices saussureae (muxiang) for damp heat stagnation; for the other types, apply radix aconiti lateralis preparata (fuzi) as the main prescription, then apply the cortex cinnamomi (rougui), safflower (honghua), radices saussureae (muxiang), radices salviae miltiorrhizae (danshen), etc. as the secondary prescriptions; each herb cake is 2.5g; mix the glutinous rice wine (3 mg) to the paste, then press it into the medicinal herb cake which is 2.3 cm in diameter and 0.5 cm in thickness with the medicinal herb cake mold.
moxa cone: 2.1 cm in diameter of bottom, 2 cm high and about 2g in weight.
Cone number: For spleen and stomach deficiency type, apply 3 cones on each of the main points and the secondary points. For damp heat stagnation, apply 2 cones on BL 25, ST 25, CV 12 and CV 6, and 4～7 cones on ST 36, ST 37 with strong sensation induced by moxa. For spleen deficiency and liver qi stagnation type, apply 3 cones on each of the main points and the secondary points. For spleen and kidney yang deficiency type, apply 3 cones on the main points and 4 cones on the secondary points. For constipation, apply 2 cones on KI 15, less cones or no cone on ST 25. For pyohemia, apply 4～7 cones on SP 1.
Treatment course: the outpatients should do moxibustion everyday or each other day, the inpatients should do it everyday. 12 times treatments are one course. Take a break for 5 days after each course; the curative effect observation stage is during 3～5 courses.
3 Curative Effect Standard
Cure in the near term: the clinical syndromes disappear completely, the routine examination of stools is normal, and the pathological changes of intestinal mucosa turns normal according to fibercoloscope examination. Excellent: the main clinical syndromes disappear, the routine examination of stools is normal, and the pathological changes of intestinal mucosa are improved obviously according to fibercoloscope examination. Improved: the main clinical syndromes are improved obviously, the routine examination of stools is mild abnormal, and the pathological changes of intestinal mucosa is improved according to fibercoloscope examination. Inefficient if the syndromes are not improved, the routine examination of stools is abnormal as before, and the pathological changes of intestinal mucosa is not improved or getting worse according to fibercoloscope examination.
4 The Treatment Results:
We do observations on 46 cases for chronic nonspecific colonitis. 24 cases are cured in the near term and account for 57.14%; 12 cases are excellent and account for 28.57%; 6 cases are improved and account for 14.29%. The cure rat is 85.71%.
