Traumatology and Orthopedics

Calcaneodynia are mainly caused by chronic strain accompanied with osteophyte. All of 36 cases are out-patients. Principle: relaxing tendons, promoting blood circulation, soften osteophyte to relieve pain, dispel wind and cold. Basic prescriptions: Zhi Chuan Wu, Wu She, Wu Mei, Chi Shao, Zhi Cao Wu, Shan Zha, Tao Ren, Hong Hua, Shen Jin Cao and Tou Gu Cao. Modification: increase the dosage of Shan Zha and Wu Mei and add Zao Jiao Ci and ji Xue Teng for hyperplasia add Sang Zhi, Gui Zhi and Ai Ye for the patients without hyperplasia. Methods: boil water of 1000ml for 5 minutes, wash and fume affected foot with it; 30 minutes for once, twice a day, and one course is 6 days. One dose can be used for 2 days.
Results: 35 cases of this group are cured, and one case failed. 22 cases are cured after one treatment course, 12 cases are cured after two treatment courses and 1 case is cured after 3 treatment courses.
