Treatment principle and application of TCM “acupuncture and herb complementarity”

Complementarity of laxation and urgency: it is the most favorable method of “acupuncture and herb complementarity”. Because we always think the herb’s function is so slow that it can not treat urgent disease, however, the acupuncture treatment can get effect instantly.

Complementarity of same trend: it is used for disease with simplex situation.

Complementarity of disparate trend: when we treat patient with deficiency of yin and yang or deficiency complicated with excess in clinic, we often attend to one thing and lose another, are in a quandary with prescription. It can change complex into simplex and also get advantage avoiding disadvantage if we use the method of complementarity of disparate trend of acupuncture and herb.

Treatment course complementarity: what is called treatment course complementarity, is interlacement of acupuncture course and herbal course.

After complementarity: there are two meanings, one is remedying herbal treatment with acupuncture, or remedying acupuncture with herbal treatment; another one is assisting a little herb (acupuncture) after treatment of acupuncture (herbs).
