Internal Medicine

Chronic ulcerative colitis has symptoms including abdominal pain and distention, loose stool, frequent defecation, or ulcerative and bloody stool. All of 34 cases are treated by modification of Shen Ling Bai Zhu San after differentiation. Main ingredients include Dang Shen, Bai Zhu, Fu Ling, Liang Zi, Yi Yi Ren, Sha Ren, Bian Dou, Shan Yao, Shi Liu Pi, Qing Pi, Qian Shi and Zhi Gan Cao. Modification: add Huang Lian and Qin Pi for heat; add Wei Ke Zi and Pao Jiang for cold; add Bu Gu Zhi and Rou Dou Kou for yang deficiency; add fried Shan Zha and Mai Ya for indigestion. One decoction a day and two times a day are performed, 30 days treatment become one course.


Result: Total effective rate is 91.17%.
