Internal Medicine
According to Traditional Chinese medicine, rheumatic cardiac disease is caused by invasion of wind, cold and dampness from exterior to interior, dysfunction of blood vessels and heart by pathogenic factors. We have treated 122 patients with rheumatic cardiac disease given by Fu Fang Yu Xin Tong and obtained good effect. There are 43 male and 79 female patients. Classification of differentiation includes 34 cases of spleen and kidney yang deficiency leading to retention of dampness; 43 cases of heart yang deficiency resulting in blood stagnation; 45 cases of heart and kidney yang deficiency leading to qi deficiency and water retention.

Main symptoms include palpitation, asthma, cough, chest pressure, edema, scanty urination and heart failure, etc.

Treatment method: Main ingredients of Fu Fang Yu Xin Tong have prepared cooked Fu Zi, Huang Qi, Gui Zhi, Ling Zhi etc. One month of treatment becomes one course and patient should continue 1 to 3 courses.

Result: After one course treatment given by Fu Fang Yu Xin Tong, among 122 cases, 38 cases are obviously effective, 65 cases are improved and 19 cases are no effect. In 9 cases in obviously effective and 12 cases in improved stop intake of digoxinum after one course, 27 male from obviously effective and improved decrease dosage of digoxinum ( they took digoxinum everyday before treatment ) after two courses.
