It is a good compatibility for strengthen spleen and eliminate water. Bai Zhu strengthens spleen and dry dampness; Fu Ling leaches out dampness. One dries and another leaches, also the combination of moving and eliminating will make the spleen to function much stronger, then the dampness can be moved away. The dosage is usually like this: Bai Zhu 6-9g, Fu Ling 9-12g. (2) Bai Zhu and Ze Xie It looks similar to Bai Zhu + Fu Ling, strengthens and removes dampness. However, Bai Zhu strengthens spleen and raises the pure; Ze Xie scours out fluid and directs turbidity downward. One raises and another descends. The dosage usually is Ze Xie much more than Bai Zhu. (3) Bai Zhu and Fu Zi The property of Fu Zi is acrid and hot, warm spleen and kidney. Plus Bai Zhu, it is a good combination to tonify fire and generate earth. Usually Pao Fu Zi has been used in this combination. (4) Bai Zhu and Gan Jiang It is a good compatibility to strengthen spleen and warm middle jiao, disperse cold and eliminate dampness. The dosage usually is Bai Zhu more than Gan Jiang. (5) Bai Zhu and Gui Zhi Gui Zhi is good at warming yang and promoting the activities of qi transformation. So two of them together will strengthen spleen, warm and tonify middle jiao. (6) Bai Zhu and Ren Shen It is a good compatibility to strengthen spleen and tonify yusn qi. Usually Bai Zhu uses 9-12g, Ren Shen 6-9g. (7) Bai Zhu and Gan Cao Bai Zhu strengthen spleen and promote Gan Cao tonify middle jiao function; Gan cao tonifies middle jiao, benefits qi and help Bai Zhu strengthening spleen. Usually their dosages are 6-9g. (8) Bai Zhu and Shao Yao Shan Yao softens liver. Two of them together can harmonize liver and spleen, as well as leach water. Shao Yao will help reducing the warm and dryness property of Bai Zhu. (9) Bai Zhu and Zhi Shi Zhi Shi breaks cold and hest blockage, reduces distension, and calms down stomach. Two of them working together strengthens spleen and reduces the stagnation of stomach, helps digestion.
