Stomach Meridian


Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-epicranial aponeurosis-subaponeurotic loose connective tissue-pericranium.
There are the branches of the auriculotemporal nerve, the temporal branches of the facial nerve and the frontal branches of the superficial temporal artery and vein in this area.

Location:
Upright sitting. Firstly locate ToulinqiGB15 (Toulinqi (GB15)), measure the distance between ToulinqiGB15 (GB15) and ShentingDU24(DU24). Then shift this distance laterally, the terminal spot
is TouweiST8 ( Touwei (ST8)), 0.5 cun within the anterior hairline.
Function:
Refreshing oneself and improving eyesight.

Indications:
Headache, blurring of vision, ophthalmalgia, lacrimation.

Prescription:
Combined use with JingmingBL1 (Jingming (BL1)), ZulinqiGB41 (Zulinqi (GB41) Shu-Stream Point, The Eight Confluent Point) and FengchiGB20 (Fengchi (GB20)) for treatment of lacrimation when attacked by wind; with LiequeLU7 (Lieque (LU7)Luo-Connecting Point the Eight Confluent Point) for treatment of hemicrania; and with SibaiST2 (Sibai (ST2)) for treatment of eyelid spasm.

Methods:
Insert the needle obliquely upward 0.5-1.0 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension and soreness; moxibustion: using mild moxibustion for 15 min.
