4 INDICATIONS
1. Phlegm-heat accumulating in the lungs manifested as cough with yellow and thick sputum. Peucedanum root (Qian Hu [3]) is used with Mullberry bark (Sang Bai Pi [4]), Trichosanthes fruit (Gua Lou [5]) and Tendrilled fritillary bulb (Chuan Bei Mu [6]) in the formula Qianhu San.2. Cough due to invasion by exogenous pathogenic wind and heat. Peucedanum root (Qianhu) is used with Mentha (Bo He [7]), Arctium fruit (Niu Bang Zi [8]) and Platycodon root (Jie Geng [9]).
