“When in cold damage, after great purging has been used, sweating is then promoted, and as a result there is a glomus below the heart and aversion to cold, this means that the exterior hasn’t yet been resolved.  One cannot attack the glomus, but should first resolve the exterior and after the exterior is resolved, then one can attack the glomus.  Gui Zhi [3] Tang is appropriate for resolving the exterior and Da Huang [4] Huang Lian [5] Xie Xin Tang is appropriate for attacking the glomus.”
