60 Cases of Chronic Pelvic Inflammation Treated with Modification of Dang Gui Shao Yao San [1]

All the 60 cases have lower abdominal pain in different degree, accompanied with 25 cases of lumbosacral pain, 46 cases of leucorrhea, 15 cases of irregular menstruation, 10 cases of dysmenorrheal, 6 cases of anus bearing-down and distention, 3 cases of pelvic mass. Treatments: all the cases are treated with modification of Dang Gui [3] Shao Yao San. Prescriptions: Dang Gui, Bai Shao [4], Chuan Xiong [5], Ze Xie [6], Bai Zhu [7] and Fu Ling [8]. Add Sang Ji Sheng [9] and Niu Xi [10] for lumbosacral pain; add Cang Zhu [11] for leucorrhea; add San Leng [12] and E Zhu [13] for pelvic mass; add Huang Qi [14] and Dang Shen [15] for anus bearing-down and distention; add Wu Yao [16] and Xiao Hui Xiang [17] for lower abdominal pain and cold. Be decocted with water, 10 days treatment is one course. The second course could be continued if the curative effect is not obvious.

Results: there are 66.67% cured, 16.67% markedly effective,13.33% improved and 3.33% failed.
