Urine Bladder Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-triceps muscle of calf-long flexor muscle of great toe.
In the superficial layer, there is the lateral cutaneous nervr of calf. In the deep layer, there are the tibial nerve and posterior tibial artery and vein.


Location:
Sit upright, hang down two shanks, with two feet touching the ground; 1 cun inferiorly and obliquely apart from ChengshanBL57(Chengshan (BL57)), vertically above KunlunBL60(Kunlun (BL60) Jing-River Point).
Function:
Tranquilizing the mind, relaxing the muscles and tendons, and reducing heat.


Indications:
Rheumatic arthritis, nephritis, urocystitis, beriberi, hemorrhoid, dizziness, epilepsy, and pain in the waist and legs.


Prescription:
Combined use with FengchiGB20 (Fengchi (GB20)) for treatment of dizziness; with BaihuanshuBL30 (Baihuanshu (BL30)) for treatment of hemorrhoid; with YongquanKI1(Yongquan (KI1) Jing-Well Point), HanyanGB4 (Hanyan (GB4)), and HoudingGV19 (Houding (GV19)) for treatmentof pain, acute arthritis and sweating of neck.


Methods:
Insert the needle pependicularly, 1-1.5 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension, radiating toward the foot; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
