3 FUNCTIONS
1. To tonify kidneys and control essence; 2. To nourish liver and brighten the eyes.


4 INDICATIONS
1. Deficient kidneys manifested as impotence, nocturnal emissions, premature ejaculation, lower back pain or leukorrhagia. Dadder seed (Tu Si Zi [3])is used with Eucommia bark (Du Zhong [4]), Dioscores (Shan Yao [5])and Cibot rhizome (Gou Ji [6])for lower back pain or leukorrhagia; Dadder seed (Tusizi) is used with Schisandra fruit (Wu Wei Zi [7]), Cnidium fruit (Shechuangzi), Flattened milkvetch seed (Sha Yuan Zi [8])and Grossy privet fruit (Nu Zhen Zi [9]) for impotence.    2. Diarrhea [10] due to deficient spleen. Dadder seed (Tusizi) is used with Pilose asiabell root (Dang Shen [11]), White atractylodes (aizhu) and Dioscorea(Shanyao)


5 DOSAGE
10-15g


6 COUTIONS
This herb is contraindicated in cases with deficiency of yin with excessive fire, constipation and red, scanty urine.
