Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-levator muscle of upper lip-levator muscle of angle of mouth.
There are the infraorbital nerve of the maxillary nerve, the buccal branches of the facial nerve, the anastomotic branches formed by the branches or tributaries of the facial artery and vein and the infraorbital artery and vein in this area.


Location:
Upright sitting or supine position; with one's eyes looking forward horizontally, meeting point of the vertical line passing through the pupil and the horizontal line passing through the lower border of ala nasi.
Function:
Improving eyesight, expelling wind and clearing the nasal passage.


Indications:
Facial paralysis, twitching of eyelids, epistaxis, toothache, swelling of lips and cheek.


Prescription:
Combined use with YifengTE17 (Yifeng (TE17) [3]), TaiyangEXHN5 (EX-HN5) and YangbaiGB14 (Yangbai (GB14) [4]) for treatment of facial paralysis; with TianchuangSI16 (Tianchuang (SI16) [5]) for treatment of swelling and pain of the cheek; and with XiaguanST7 (Xiaguan (ST7) [6]) for treatment of toothache.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly 0.3-0.5 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension and soreness; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 15 min.
