The mechanism of obesity and infertility is mainly the original obesity or eating too much greasy food that is harmful for the spleen and stomach, which lead to spleen Qi weakness, dysfunction of transportation, essential substances of food cannot distribute to the four limbs and converse to body fluid, the fluid transform to phlegm, the phlegm and fluid  sticking and stagnate together, they are belong to Yin evil and damage Yang Qi, which lead to the transferring of phlegm-damp to lower energizer and blocking Chong meridian and Ren meridian, and stagnating in uterus that causes dysfunction menstruation, thus, the patients are difficult to get pregnant. In general, the obese infertility is the phlegm-damp infertility.

Clinical syndrome: infertility, irregular menstruation, obesity, excessive sputum, fullness sensation in chest, nausea, white greasy tongue coating, slippery pulse etc.

Treatment and prescription: the method is nourishing spleen and stomach, dissipating dampness and phlegm, the prescription is Jia Wei Bu Zhong Yi Qi Decoction (Chai Hu [3], Huang Qi [4], Sheng Ma [5], Ren Shen [6], Gan Cao [7], Dang Gui [8], Bai Zhu [9], Chen Pi [10], Fu Ling [11], Ban Xia [12]).
