Clinical Observation of Hypertension with Depressive Status Treated by Acupuncture [1]

There are totally 96 patients with hypertension diagnosed by WHO standard;  according to symptoms of depression and worry, depression (SDS) value ≥40 and worry (SAS) value ≥40. patients are randomly divided into two groups with 55 in observation group and 43 in control group. Control group takes supportive psychotherapy and general medical treatment. Treatment group adds acupuncture treatment. Acupuncture treatment: 1: Flare up of liver yang, Yintang (Ex-HN3), Baihui (GV20) [3] (GV 20), Shangxing (GV23) [4] (GV 23), Taichong (LR3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point [5] (LR 3), Yanglingquan (GB34) He-Sea Point, Influential Point of Tendon [6] (Yanglingquan (GB34) He-Sea Point, Influential Point of Tendon [7]). 2: Retention of phlegm and dampness: Yintang (Ex-HN3), Baihui (GV 20), Shangxing (GV 23), Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point [8] (ST 36), Fenglong (ST40) Luo-Connecting Point [9] (ST 40). Result: in observation group, 32 is obviously effective; 17 is improved; 6 is no effect. In control group, 23 is obviously effective, 10 is improved, 10 is no effect.
