Herbs mostly root in plant, animal, mineral. It must be processed before clinical application, it is called processing. As for one herb, different processing method result in various herbal function, it also cause diverse clinical effect. It is one significant factor for improvement of clinical effect that the reasonable herbal compatibility, however, the herbal processing is the more important factor to influence the clinical effect.

1. Maintaining the herbs’ nature characteristics, improving clinical efficiency.
2. Processing can transfer the herbal nature and function.
3. Processing may change the functional tendency of herbs.
4. Processing could clear or relieve the toxicity and side-effect of herbs.
