Treatment of Epidemic Parotitis Given by Needling of Jiaosun (TE20) and Guanchong (TE1) Jing-Well Point [1]

There are 39 cases of epidemic parotitis  out-patients in this group. Treatment method: reducing both sides Jiaosun (TE20) [3] and both sides Guanchong (TE1) Jing-Well Point [4] which belong to The Sanjiao Meridian of Hand-Shaoyang, moxibusting TE20 for 4-6 seconds, approaching the points rapidly using moxa fire, until the patients could not endure the heat-pain sensation, please avoiding to burn skin, bloodletting in TE1 for 3 drips, paying attention to the anti-infection disposing. Result: after treatment by this method, 1 case is healed after 1 day’s treatment; 13 cases are healed after 2 days; 25 cases are healed after 3 days. All the patients are healed within 3 days, the disease course is shorter than its normal disease course for 10-14 day.
