The pulse qi of healthy people is endowed with the stomach qi. The stomach qi is the normal pulse qi of healthy people. If the person’s pulse has no stomach qi, it is unfavorable, and the patient will perish.

The normal spring pulse is slightly string-like with stomach qi. If the pulse is excessively string-like with scant stomach qi, the liver suffers. If only string-like without stomach qi, it is fatal. If floating pulse is also seen with stomach qi, the disease will occur in the autumn. If extremely floating, the disease will occur immediately. All genuine qi of the zang-organs spreads in the liver, and the liver stores the qi of the tendons and membranes.
