70 cases of the two groups are from out-patients in our hospital, and they are randomly divided into two groups: 40 cases in the treatment, 30 cases in the control group.
All selected cases have to have ECG or Holter ECG examination and clinical symptoms diagnosed as coronary heart disease and have symptoms such as angina pectoris. Treatment group: the patients in the treatment group use self-made Shen Qi Decoction. Prescription is as follows: Ren Shen [3] 10g, Huang Qi [4] 25, San Qi [5] 4g, Hong Hua [6] 10g, Shui Zhi [7] 10g, Dan Shen [8] 25g, Chi Shao [9] Yao 15g, Gua Luo 12g, Xie Bai [10] 12g, Ban Xia [11] 10, Zhi Gan Cao [12] 10g. Control group: isosorbide dinitrate 10mg, warm water delivery, 3 times a day, plus small-dose oral aspirin. Three weeks treatment is consider to one course of treatment for both groups. We need to stop the other drugs of coronary artery disease the three days before our treatment and during the treatment period. If angina pectoris happens, we give sublingual nitroglycerin tablet and record the number.
Treatment results: The total effective rate is 70% for treatment group, and 56.7% for control group. There is significant difference (P <0.05) between the two groups.
