42 Cases Vaginal Bleeding after Abortion given by Sheng Hua Decoction [1]

The average age of the patients is 27 years old. Among the 42 cases, there are 22 cases of drugs abortion, 20 cases of induced abortion. Regarding to the vaginal bleeding after the abortions, the shortest is three days; the longest is 40 days, with an average of 17 days. The cases of more than 7 days vaginal bleeding are checked by B-ultrasonography to prove there is no relict tissue remaining in uterine cavity. Treatment methods: Sheng Hua Decoction plus Yi Mu Cao [3], Carbonized Guan Zhong [4] and Xian He Cao [5] as a basic formula. Add Qian Cao and fried Pu Huang [6] for blood stasis blocking the uterus; add Pu Gong Ying [7] and fried Huang Bai [8] for damp-heat; add Nu Zhen Zi [9] and Han Lian Cao [10] for liver and kidney yin deficiency; add fried Bai Zhu [11] and Xu Duan [12] for spleen-kidney deficiency; add Zhi Ke, Yu Jin [13] for liver qi stagnation; add fried Ai Ye [14] and E Jiao [15] for blood cold; cut Pao Jiang, add Sheng Di Huang [16] and Qian Cao for blood stasis turning to heat; add Xiang Fu [17] and Yan Hu Suo [18] for severe abdomen pain.

Results: The total effective rate is 92.86%.
