Chinese Medicine Classic / Nei Jin [2]

The Emperor asked: "The hundred diseases must result from the dryness, dampness, cold, summer heat, wind, rain, indulgent sex, joy and anger, improper diet and life style. I know that if evil attacks the body, the pulses will manifest their conditions; if the evils enter different zang-organs, different names of diseases will be determined. I know this. Nearly all of the hundred diseases are alleviated at dawn, calm in daytime, aggravated at dusk, and worse in the evening. Why is it so?"

Qi Bo answered: "The qi of yin and yang of the four seasons makes it so."

Key Words: a day is divided into four times in accordance with heavenly qi, in the divine pivot
