Chinese Medicine Classic / Nei Jin [2]

If the qi of the stomach channel is excessive, the front of the body will be hot all over. If the qi is surplus in the stomach, the patient will digest grains quickly and usually feel hungry, and his urine color will be dark. If its qi is deficient, the front of the body will be chilly, and the stomach will be cold, distended and full.

To treat such diseases, drain what is excessive, and supplement what is deficient. Needle fast to what has heat, retain needles to what has cold, and use moxibustion to what shows sinking. If a disease is due to neither excess not deficiency of other channels, select the stomach channel itself. If its qi is excessive, the neck pulse will be three times larger than the wrist pulse. If its qi is deficient, the neck pulse will be smaller than the wrist pulse.

Key Words: channels, in the divine pivot
