Treatment of 36 Cases of Spastic Abdominal Pain in Children Given by Chang Jing Huan Jie Tang [1]

Diagnostic standard of spastic abdominal pain in children is listed as below:
1. For infant under 1 year old, paroxysmal crying, there is ceaseless of crying without relation of hungry, the crying can maintain for several minutes to several hours, it may terminate after exhaust or defecation;
2. For infant above 1 year old: abdominal pain attack suddenly,  it appears paroxysmal and can maintain for about 10 minutes, the symptom will become severe gradually, it may maintain for several hours for some special cases, the degree is totally different, desire for warm and pressure, the pain area is mostly situated around navel, for minority, it is located in left-lower abdomen or under Xiphoid, there are also big sweating, pale complexion, coldness hands and feet, during outbreak period, there is abdominal muscle strain, it will disappear after the symptom be relieved, no obvious positive signs can be seen, there is vomiting for long-term outbreak.

Treatment: all the 36 cases were taking Chang Jing Huan Jie Tang for treatment, the prescription: Bai Shao [3] Yao, Mu Xiang [4], Zhi Ke, Xiang Fu [5] (prepared with vinegar), Fu Ling [6], Yan Hu Suo [7], Bai Dou Kou [8], Dang Shen [9], Bai Zhu [10], Gan Cao [11]. The treatment course is 14-21 days. Result: 28 cases were healed, 8 cases have obvious effect.
