The center produces dampness promotes the soil qi. The soil qi generates sweet flavor. The sweet flavor nourishes the spleen. The spleen governs the muscles. The spleen promotes the lungs, and dominates the mouth. The dampness in the heaven, soil in the earth, muscles in the body, spleen in the zang organs, yellow in colors, gong in musical scales, singing in sounds, hiccup in diseases, mouth in the orifices, sweetness in flavors, and thought in mood are all corresponding.

Thought damages the spleen, but anger can overcome thought. Dampness harms the muscles, but wind can overcome dampness. Sweetness impairs the muscles, but sourness can overcome sweetness.
