Treatment of 1 Case of Urticaria Pigmentosa Given by Herbs [1]

Urticaria pigmentosa belongs to a common type of mast cell hyperplasia of the skin, it is mostly has a good prognosis, and singularly has canceration. It usually can be seen on children, whose skin damage may relieve on their own. Adult urticaria pigmentosa can seldom relieve automatically. West medicine always treat the disease with disodium cromoglycate in order to stabilize mast cell membrane, or treat the symptoms. It belongs to kidney yin deficiency and deficiency fire disturbance according to TCM syndrome differentiation. We use Liu Wei Di Huang Wan with modification for treatment of 1 month and get good effect. The prescription takes Shu Di Huang [3], Nu Zhen Zi [4], Gou Qi Zi [5], Han Lian Cao [6] to nourish kidney yin and strengthen essence, Sheng Di Huang [7], Mu Dan Pi [8], Chi Shao [9] Yao, Bai Shao [10] Yao, Fu Ling [11], Ze Xie [12] to nourish yin and clear heat, cool blood and stop itching in order to treat the "branch", treat both the "branch" and the "root" simultaneously and gain satisfied treatment effect.
