Abnormal response of cupping [1]

After cupping therapy, patient feels local tense and painful, or distal and body sensation like cold or fever, numbness, wandering pain, swelling or distention that are abnormal response of cupping.

The reason is:
1. patient is nervous or sensative to pain.
2. suction is too forceful.
3. cupping position is not suitable.
4. quality of cup is not good, so border of cup is not smooth.
5. remaining of cup is so long.
6. technique and stimulation of cup are not proper.
7. patient is not suitable to accept cupping therapy.

When patient is over-fatigue, hungery or easily frightened, it is easy for patient to feel abnormal sensation such as dizziness, nausea, vomitting, cold sweating, fullness on the chest or coma.
