Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-auricular cartilage.
There are the anterior auricular branches of the superficial temporal artery and vein, the posterior auricular branches of the posterior auricular artery and vein, the anterior auricular branches of the auriculotemporal nerve, the posterior auricular branches of the lesser occipital nerve, and the auricular branchlar branches of the facial nerve in this area.


Location:
Erjian (LI2) Ying-Spring Point at the apex auricula.
Function:
Dissipating heat, cooling blood, and improving eyesight.


Indications:
Redness, swelling and pain of the eyes, febrile diseases, and nebula.


Prescription:
Combined use with BaihuiGV20 (Baihui (GV20)), ShencangKI25 (Shencang (KI25)), ZulinqiGB41 (Zulinqi (GB41) Shu-Stream Point, The Eight Confluent Point), TinghuiGB2 (Tinghui (GB2)), FengchiGB20 (Fengchi (GB20)), GuangmingGB37 (Guangming (GB37) Luo-Connecting Point), TaiyangEXHN5 (EX-HN5) for treatment of headache and migrain; and with TaiyangEXHN5 (EX-HN5) for treatment of keratohelcosis.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly to 0.1-0.2 cun deep or prick to cause bleeding; needling response: local pain sensation; moxibustion: using 1-3 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 5-10 min.
