Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-procerus muscle.
There are the supratrochlear branch of the frontal nerve and the frontal artery from the ophthalmic artery and accompanving vein in this area.


Location:
One's back propped or lie supinely; at the midpoint of the line connecting the medial end of two eyebrows.
Function:
Eliminating wind and heat, and tranquilizing the mind.


Indications:
Headache, veritgo, epistaxis, rhinorrhea, infantile convulsion, frontal headache, and insomnia.


Prescription:
Combined use with YingxiangLI20 (Yingxiang (LI20)) HeguLI4 (Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point) for treatment of rhinitis; with TaiyangEXHN5 (EX-HN5), FengchiGB20 (Fengchi (GB20)), QuchiLI11 (Quchi (LI11) He-Sea Point), FenglongST40 (Fenglong (ST40) Luo-Connecting Point) for treatment of headache and hypertension; and with ShenmenHT7 (Shenmen (HT7) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Primary Point), SanyinjiaoSP6 (Sanyinjiao (SP6)) for treatment of insomnia.


Methods:
Insert the needle subcutaneously to 0.3-0.5 cun deep or prick to cause bleeding; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones.
