Triple Energizer (San Jiao) Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-extensor muscle of finger-long abductor muscle of thumb-short extensor muscle of thumb-interosseous membrane of forearm.
In the superficial layer, there are the posterior cutaneous nerve of the forearm and the tributaries of the cephalic and basilic veins. In the deep layer, there are the brachnes or the tributaries of the posterior interosseous artery and vein of the forearm and the branches of the posterior interosseous nerve of the forearm.


Location:
Strech the arm, pronate the palm; 4 cun directly above the midpoint of the dorsal stria of the wrist, between ulna and radius.
Function:
Removing obstruction from the channels, inducing resuscitation and alleviating pain.


Indications:
Deafness, lower toothache, ophthalmalgia, painful arms, and aphasia.


Prescription:
Combined use with LianquanCV23 (Lianquan (CV23)) for treatment of aphasia; and with HuantiaoGB30 (Huantiao (GB30 )) for treatment of hemiparalysis.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 0.5-1 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension, radiating toward the hand; moxibustion: using 3-5 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
