Kidney Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-triceps muscle of calf.
In the superficial layer, there are the medial cutaneous branches of the suphenous nerve to the leg and the superficial veins. In the deep layer, there are the tibial nerve and the posterior tibial artery and vein. 201.


Location:
Upright sitting or supine position; firstly, locate TaixiKI3(Taixi(KI3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point), 5 cun vertically above TaixiKI3(KI3), about 2 cun posterior to the posterior border of the medial side of tibia.
Function:
Regaining consciousness, and regulating the function of lower-jiao.


Indications:
Epilepsy, psychosis, nephritis, urocystitis, orchitis, pelvic inflammation, infantile fetal toxicosis, systremma, and glossitis.


Prescription:
Combined use with DalingPC7 (Daling (PC7) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point) for treatment of vomiting; and with ChengshanBL57 (Chengshan (BL57)) for treatment of systremma.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 0.5-0.8 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension, radiating downwards; moxibustion: using 3 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 10 min.
