Urine Bladder Meridian

Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-aponeurosis latissimus muscle of back- erector spinal muscle-lumbar quarate muscle.
In the superficial layer, there are the lateral cutaneous branches of the posterior branches of the 1st and 2nd lumbra nerves and the accompanying arteries and veins, In the deep layer, there are the muscular branches of the posterior branches of the 1st and 2nd lumbar nerves and the branches or tributaries of the dorsal branches of the related lumbar arteries and vein.


Location:
Lie pronely; firstly, locate MingmenGV4(Mingmen (GV4)), 3 cun apart from MingmenGV4(GV4) laterally.
Function:
Tonifying the kidney and replenishing vital essence, removing dampness by diuresis and obstruction from the channels and collaterals, and strengthening loins and knee.


Indications:
Lumbago, spermatorrhea, sexual impotence, prostatitis, eczema of scrotum, nephritis, renal colic, dysuria, paralysis of the lower limbs, indigestion, vomiting, and Diarrhea.


Prescription:
Combined use with GuanyuanCV4 (Guanyuan (CV4) Front-Mu Point of the SmallIntestine) for treatment of sexual impotence, spermatorrhea; and with ZhongjiCV3 (Zhongji (CV3) Front-Mu Point of the Bladder), ZusanliST36 (Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point) for treatment of urocysitis, and urethritis.


Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly, 0.5-0.8 cun deep; needling response: local numbness and distension; moxibustion: using 7-15 moxa-cones, or mild moxibustion for 15 min.
Note:
Don`t puncture deeply, or else the neesle would penetrate the quadrate muscle of loins-the pararenal adipose body-the renal fascia-the adipose capsule of kidney-the renal fibrous membrane-the kidney ( the lower side of right kidney, the lower side of kidney ), and cause an injury to kidney tissue with manifestation of hematuria and other symptoms.
