Location:
Sit upright with one`s back propped; firstly, locate QuchaBL4(Qucha (BL4)), 0.5 cun sagittally above QuchaBL4(BL4).
Function:
Tranquilizing the mind and improving acuity of vision, purging away the heat and expelling the wind.
Indications:
Epilepsy, headache, dizziness, hypopsia, and rhinitis.
Prescription:
Combined use with HeguLI4 (Hegu (LI4) Yuan-Source Point) for treatment of common cold;with TaichongLR3 (Taichong (LR3) Shu-Stream, Yuan-Source Point), FengchiGB20 (Fengchi (GB20)) for treatment of epilepsy; and with ShenzhuGV12 (Shenzhu (GV12)), WeizhongBL40 (Weizhong (BL40) He-Sea Point, Lower Confluent Point), WeiyangBL39 (Weiyang (BL39) Lower Confluent Point), KunlunBL60 (Kunlun (BL60) Jing-River Point) for treatment of back rigidity.
Methods:
Insert the needle horizontally 0.5-1 cun deep; needling response:local sensation of distension and heaviness; moxibustion: mild moxibustion for 10 min.
