Emergency

Intestinal obstruction is a common complication of oncology. It is mostly caused by postoperative conglutination, mechanical compression, and radioactive damage, bedridden. Herbal enema is one of important treatment of intestinal obstruction. It can effectively relieve the symptom of intestinal obstruction. Treatment method: (1) General treatment: to fast, gastrointestinal decompression, appropriate use of antibiotics to control intestinal infection, correcting water metabolism and electrolyte disorders via fluid replacement. (2) TCM treatment: taking Da Cheng Qi Tang with modification as the main prescription, adding Mu Xiang, Qing Pi, Lai Fu Zi, Wu Yao etc which can moving qi for adhesive ileus, dynamic ileus; adding Hong Hua, Chi Shao Yao, Yan Hu Suo, raw Pu Huang, Wu Ling Zhi etc to invigorate flow of blood in order to move qi and stop pain for mechanical pressure, radiation damage; adding Ma Ren, Tao Ren etc and increase the dosage of Mang Xiao if there is constipation due to intestinal obstruction; adding Huang Lian, Huang Qin, Zhi Zi, Mu Dan Pi, Chi Shao Yao etc to clear heat and relieve toxin if there is excessive heat toxicity; selecting Bai Hua She She Cao, Ban Zhi Lian, Chong Lou, Bai Jiang Cao, Tu Fu Ling etc to relieve toxin and anti-cancer according to the cancer type. Decoction of 1st and 2nd mixture decocts into 200-300ml decoction for enema. The general patients need one time enema per day, for some severe patients, 2-3 times enema per day is essential.

Result: herbal enema, treatment, intestinal obstruction
