“When the Px has not defecated for five or six days, and has pain around the umbilicus and vexation and agitation that occurred periodically, this means that there is dry stool causing the person not to defecate.”

“When in yang ming disease, there is delirious speech and tidal fever, but inability to eat, this means that there must be five or six pieces of dry stool in the ST.  If the person is able to eat, there is only Hard stool. Da Cheng Qi Tang is appropriate for purging.”
