“When one presses the pulse and finds that it arrives moderately, stops, and then arrives again, this is called bound.  Also, when the pulse arrives stirring and then stops, again arriving small and rapid, returning to normal but stirring again, this, too, is called bound, which is a yin pulse.  When the pulse arrives stirring and stops, but is unable to return to normal, because it is again stirring, this is called intermittent, which is a yin pulse.  When on gets these pulses the disease is difficult to treat.”
