Experimental study of modern pharmacology shows that Gui Fu Di Huang Wan has function of lowering blood sugar, blood fat, anti-atherosclerosis, enhancing the role of immune function, besides, it can improve pituitary and adrenocortical function, advance testes to produce testosterone; anti-aging through clearing peroxide free radical; reinforce heart, lower down blood pressure, improve peripheral circulation, kidney function and benefit urination. All the information depicted has relation with the data in this report.
Gui Fu Di Huang Wan warms and reinforce kidney yang, it can be used for genito-urinary system diseases due to kidney yang deficiency, such as chronic nephritis, prostatic hyperplasia, urinary incontinence in the elderly, diabetes, hypertension, asthma, chronic low back pain etc syndrome. The symptoms include soreness sensation on lumbar region and knees, limb edema, dysfunction of urination is severe especially at night, sputum, fluid retention, cough and asthma, diabetes, pale and plump tongue, weak pulse, deep and thready in “ Chi “ area, all the symptoms has relation with lower immune function. Gui Fu Di Huang Wan warms and reinforce kidney yang, it can efficiently enhance the lower function of immune system due to kidney yang deficiency. Meanwhile, it plays a role of immune regulation. This experiment involves the cyclic nucleotides and includes cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). High concentrations of cAMP pose negative regulation on the immune cells while the cGMP has positive impact on immune cells. The levels of cAMP and cGMP are interrelated with all the mechanisms of hormone, in the meantime, transforming the hormone information to the related activity of target cells which are affected by hormone. Therefore, it is called the first hormone messenger system, cyclic nucleotide is the second messenger system. On the kidney clinical realm, it is possible to bring forward new immune treatment method according to the immune regulation function of Gui Fu Di Huang Wan (namely, the using of cyclase and phosphodiesterase activator or restraining the function of immune cell).
