Stomach Meridian


Regional Anatomy:
Skin-subcutaneous tissue-anterior sheath of rectus muscle of abdomen-rectus muscle of abdomen.
In the superficial layer, there aer the lateral and anterior cutaneous branches of the anterior branches of the 10th to 12th thoracic nerves of the superficial epigastric vein. In the deep layer, there are the branches or trbutaries of the inferior epigastric artery and vein and muscular branches of the anterior branches of the 10th to 12th thoracic nerve.

Location:
Supine position; 1 cun below the level of umbilicus, 2 cun apart from the midline of the abdomen laterally .
Function:
Regulating the intestine and stomach, and regulating the flow of the flow of qi to alleviate pain.

Indications:
Abdominal pain, hernia, and dysmenorrhea.

Prescription:
Combined use with GuanyuanRN4 (RN4) and SanyinjiaoSP6 (Sanyinjiao (SP6)) for treatment of abnormal menstruation; with ZusanliST36 (Zusanli (ST36) He-Sea Point) for treatment of enteritis.

Methods:
Insert the needle perpendicularly 0.5-1 cun deep; needling response: local sensation of distension and heaviness, extend throughout the side of the abdomen; moxibustion: using 7-15 moxa-cones, mild moxibustion for 1-20 min.
