Alzheimer's disease is a chronic progressive degenerative mental disease, which main symptoms are dysfunction of spirit, consciousness and thinking. The writer divides the disease to 8 types as following:
1. Deficiency of marrow sea
Symptoms: sluggish consciousness, dumpishness, indifferent expression, dull reactivity, dizziness, tinnitus, sore sensation on lumbar region and knees, difficult steps, laziness, poor memory, pale tongue, deep-weak pulse.
2. Phlegm obstruction
Symptoms: languishment expression, or vague consciousness, dizziness, tight and heavy sensation of head, can not remember a stranger, sputum sound in throat, spiting out excessive slaver, full sensation on upper abdomen, poor appetite, laziness, sleepiness, pale tongue with greasy coating, deep-rolling pulse.
3. Deficiency of qi and blood
Symptoms: besides dysfunction of express, thinking, poor memory, the patient has symptoms of laziness, shortness of breathing, the symptoms become severe during movement, severe palpitation, insomnia, dim complexion, easily be frightened, pale tongue, thready-weak pulse.
4. Liver stasis and qi obstruction
Symptoms: depression, indifferent expression, depressed, unwilling to speak, incoherent, moving pain of hypochondrium, unfixed pain, full sensation on chest and abdomen, unpeaceful mood, irregular cry and laugh, poor appetite, thin-greasy tongue coating, wiry pulse.
5. Yang deficiency of spleen-kidney
Symptoms: languid, sluggish consciousness, poor appetite, poor sense, aversion to cold, taciturn, spitting out excessive sputum and saliva, soreness sensation on lumbar region and knees, poor appetite, laziness, large amount of urine, watery stools, pale tongue with white coating, deep-thready pulse.
6. Liver-kidney yin deficiency
Symptoms: poker-faced, languid eyes, poor memory and poor numeration ability, dizziness, tinnitus, could not help laughing sometimes, soreness sensation on lumbar region and knees, feverish sensation on five centers, hot flashes and night sweating, dry mouth and eyes, marasmus, numbness of limbs, muscles trembling, red tongue with a little coating, thready-rapid pulse.
7. Excessive fire in heart-liver
Symptoms: ideological confusion, restless, could not help laughing, or singing and dancing, vituperation, incoherent, irritability, red face and eyes, dry mouth and bitter taste, insomnia and dreaminess, tingle on chest and hypochondrium, constipation, dark urine, red tongue with yellow coating, wiry-rapid pulse with strength.
8. Blood stagnation obstructing interior
Symptoms: sluggish, poor memory, can not remember a stranger, headache, rigid neck, poor eyesight, difficult speech, salivating, numbness sensation of limbs, or paralysis, squamous and dry skin, dark tongue with petechia, deep-thready-uneve pulse.
