Another name: Long Dan Xie Gan Tablet Ingredients: Long Dan Cao, Chai Hu, Ze Xie, Sheng Di Huang, Huang Qin, Zhi Zi (fry), Mu Tong, Che Qian Zi, Dang Gui (fry with liquor), toast Gan Cao. Indications: clearing liver, dispersing fire, excreting liver-gallbladder excess heat. It can be used for headache, red eyes, bitter taste, hypochondirac pain, deaf and tinnitus symptoms due to liver-gallbladder fire flaming up, as well as downward flow of damp-heat of liver-gallbladder resulting in pudendum itch swollen pain, urine with stranguria and turbid, leucorrhea etc syndromes but without fluid deficiency. We now often use it for treatment of acute conjunctivitis, acute tympanitis, hypertension, acute jaundice hepatitis, acute cholecystitis, zoster etc which belong to damp-heat of liver-gallbladder. Attention: It is tasted bitter, and the nature is cold, there will be spleen stomach harm after long-term taking, therefore, it should not be taken for long-term for patient with spleen stomach deficiency. |
