152 cases of chronic gastritis have been treated by self-made Chai Hu He Wei Tang and satisfying effects are received in the clinic. All these 152 cases are out-patients, and accord with the diagnosis of chronic gastritis. Treatment methods: Chai Hu He Wei Tang: Chai Hu, Huang Qin, prepared Ban Xia, Chen Pi, Huang Lian, Su Ye, Fu Ling, Xiang Fu, Bai Shao, Pu Gong Ying and raw Mai Ya. Add Chuan Lian Zi, Yan Hu Suo and Bing Lang for hypochondriac pain and distention; add San Qi powder (take medicine with water), Bai Ji and Bai Lian for long term disease or melena. 15 days treatment is one course and taking the drugs for 4～6 course.
Treatment results: the total effective rate of 120 cases of superficial gastritis is 100% and 93.75% in 32 cases of atrophic gastritis.
